On Saturday July 31st I had the opportunity to help support a small local event that has been a long time in the making. Outdoor Immersion is a non-profit with a Mission to share the peace, beauty and reforming power of God's creation with the Veteran and Military Community through outdoor adventure, recreation and fitness activities. Jim Skal, the founder, had wanted to take a small group of Veterans on a short canoe trip. Lacking man power to execute on the logistics it has been a project that was sidelined for years. With the help of a handful of guys from the Pittsburgh Chapter of Safari Club International and a very generous donation of both breakfast and lunch from the Smokin Daves BBQ we put together a great day. A day of new friends, comradery and fun. I left feeling energized and satisfied. It is the start of so much more that is sure to come.
